Equinox BBQ Festival At Angel Ridge Festival Grounds
Updated: Oct 3, 2019
On September 21, My Right To Decide attended the Equinox BBQ Festival At Angel Ridge Festival Grounds. The Festival kicked off on Friday September 20 and ran until September 22. The $10 admission got you weekend access to a camping space as well as a BBQ dinner on Saturday. This was the second event the grounds held this year under new management. Thirteen vendors attended selling everything from tee-shirts to CBD products. Live music was on Friday evening and Saturday starting at 3 PM. Bands included Peyton Boling, Jerrah Beeler, Artificial Hatred, Rebelhalla, and Nectar Valley.
“The festival is a revenue generating event for improvements to the grounds. None of us made a dime.” Said Shanda Willoughby who is on the Event committee. “That's how all events there will be for the foreseeable future. Our goals for the grounds expand water and electricity availability throughout the grounds, stage repairs and new roof (which was done before Equinox) permanent bath houses with restrooms and showers. Basically, all money collected goes into making improvements to the grounds with better amenities, to make future events always better than the last.”
My Right To Decide was able to talk to many supporters and help educate on the importance of calling your legislators. "We were able to hook up hundreds of people with their Senators and House Reps. We spoke to people on at least 10 different counties who support full adult cannabis use. We urged them to call Frankfort and let them know they would like to see a bill passed to legalize cannabis." explained Jessica from My Right To Decide. "We love attending events like this- everyone is in support and willing to help."
Angel Ridge Festival Grounds plans on having many more events next year to help support Cannabis Awareness. The dates have not been set yet, but for those interested you can follow the grounds Facebook page Angel Ridge Festival Grounds.
